Storm Sealing

Mortaring in valleys has slowly been phased out over the past 10 years and is not in the Australian code of practice anymore. The reason for this is that as mortar ages the mortar in the valleys will dislodge significantly faster than anywhere else on the roof as it does not adhere to iron as much as concrete or terracotta. Strom sealing is a new and more full proof way of finishing valleys. It is a foam with a tar membrane designed to tuck under the valley tiles. It is a great way to stop wind, birds and back flow in the valley and is maintenance free.
